Leh, the capital of the historic Buddhist kingdom of Ladakh, once called “Little Tibet,” is famous for the majestic Leh Palace and the Victory Fort overlooking the city. Visitors can explore the palace museum filled with historical artifacts and local art. Below lies the old town with narrow lanes and a lively bazaar. Since opening to tourists in the 1970s, Ladakh has become a major travel destination with many hotels and restaurants welcoming visitors.

Itinerary

Upon your early morning arrival at Leh Airport, our company representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Leh. After check-in, the day is kept free for rest and acclimatization to adjust to Ladakh’s high altitude. You can relax while enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery and nearby gardens around the hotel. Later, enjoy dinner and a comfortable stay.

Overnight stay in Leh.

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day excursion to Sham Valley. Visit the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam Point (Indus–Zanskar Confluence), Rafting Point, and Spituk Monastery.

The Hall of Fame, built by the Indian Army, is a tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War and is a must-visit for every patriotic Indian. Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, located about 40 km from Leh, was built in 1571 to commemorate the visit of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to this region.

At Magnetic Hill, you can witness the unique phenomenon where vehicles appear to move uphill even when the engine is switched off. Continue to Sangam at Nimu, where the Indus and Zanskar rivers meet, offering a beautiful view of the two rivers merging.

In the evening, return to Leh. If time permits, visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and the local market.

Overnight stay in Leh.

After breakfast, depart from Leh and drive towards Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world at an altitude of 18,390 feet above sea level. The drive offers stunning views of mountains and beautiful landscapes, making the journey a memorable experience.

Upon reaching Nubra Valley, visit the sand dunes at Hunder, where you can enjoy an optional camel safari on the double-humped Bactrian camels.

Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

Today is one of the highlights of your tour, featuring an adventurous and scenic drive to the beautiful Pangong Lake. This famous lake in Ladakh gained popularity after being featured in the movie “3 Idiots.” Located at a high altitude, Pangong Lake stretches across the border of India and China, with a large portion lying on the Chinese side. The lake is well known for its changing colors, which shift with the sunlight, creating a stunning view and perfect photo opportunities—so don’t forget to carry your camera.

After spending some time at the lake, return to Leh in the evening in time for dinner. On the way back, you may also visit Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, and Rancho School (if the school is open and timing permits).
